Catcalling is a shout, whistle, or comment of a sexual nature, usually made toward a woman. It should be stop.
According to yougov.com, 31% of 18-29 years old said that catcalling is NOT a sexual harassment, and that is not okay! Why do you even catcall a girl?
What can you benefit from catcalling? Satisfaction? Do you feel satisfied?
It's not a joke to talk about a girl's boobs or butt! It's not even a compliment. You have issues if you think it's a joke or compliment. You don't know her, why do you even call her "baby" or "babe"?
Why would you ask a stranger if you could take her home? Why would you tell her to give you a smile? Why would a girl smile to a stranger who stares at her like she is a piece of meat.
A lot of boys catcall. Not just strangers, but also those who are with you in school.
When I was in 11th grade, a boy from another section was always catcalling me. I thought that if I ignore him, he would stop.
But he didn't...
He went to extreme. He came closer and started touching my body.
It happened for a few seconds.
People say a lot of things like fight back etc, but when it happens, you really don't know what to do.
I was scared, so I was just standing there, frozen.
His friends were laughing as they left...
Never talk, yell, whistle, etc. to a girl as if she is yours, because she's not. You don't own her and she doesn't owe you anything, not even a smile.
If you're attracted to her, catcalling isn't gonna start any kind of positive relationship. It just shows that you could be a rapist.
When you catcall her, you're scaring her. And that is not funny.
You are giving her a reason not to leave her house or to walk in the streets again.
